After the risky emergency caesarean section that doctors performed on a heavily pregnant Carinthian woman at Klagenfurt Clinic on Wednesday, it is now time to breathe a sigh of relief: Both mother and baby are getting better and better. “Such an intervention was important here because two lives were threatened,” says Rudolf Likar, head of intensive care medicine.

The newborn and its mother are now on the mend. “Mama’s state of health is stable now. The infected woman is still in intensive care, ”says Likar.
