Münster crime scene: Why is Axel Prahl and Commissioner Thiel now wearing a beard?

It is the hallmark of Professor Boerne. But now Commissioner Thiel also wears Bart. Axel Prahl revealed why this is the case.

The new Münster "crime scene" has been shot since last week. The first photos show that Commissioner Frank Thiel is wearing a beard. For forensic doctor Prof. Karl-Friedrich Boerne (Jan Josef Liefers, 55), facial hair has been part of the role from the very beginning – in 2002. Thiel actor Axel Prahl (60) has now revealed how his role was visually transformed.

During the corona-related retreat, he privately grew a beard, among other things. "My wife liked it so much. Now the new face hairstyle can also play along," said the actor and musician of the "Bild" newspaper.

Turning under corona conditions

In corona times everything changed a bit on the set too. Axel Prahl reveals a few details about the shooting under the new omens. It's not a brake on fun, on the contrary: "We were all extremely happy to get back together and get started. Even if you have to be careful, of course, and a basic caution is now part of the work," says Prahl.

The precautionary measures include that all team members, including the actors, had quarantined before the shoot. Before work, tests are also carried out and disinfectants are also available everywhere. But Axel Prahl goes one step further: "I came to the set with my motorhome and that's where I live now."

That's what "Long live the king!"

What can fans expect in the new thriller? A body is found in the moat of the famous medieval moated castle "Haus Lüdecke" – in armor. The dead man is the freshly baked lord Manfred Radtke. Was it an accident or is there more to it than Commissioner Thiel suspects?

Filming for the 38th case from Münster will run from June 15th to July 14th, 2020. The first broadcast date has not yet been fixed. Before that, the Münster "Tatort: Limbus" will also be broadcast. The date is not yet known here either.
