Murder of Jonathan in 2004: the main suspect indicted, the sister of the relieved victim: Current Woman The MAG

The facts date back to 2004. On the night of April 6 to 7, Jonathan disappears. This 10-year-old boy was in sea class, with other students from his school, in Orval (Cher). During the night, Jonathan was kidnapped from his room, while his comrades slept in neighboring beds. Six weeks later, investigators discovered the child's body, tied up and weighted, in a pond in Guérande. The child is said to have died of suffocation. At the time, a man was interested in justice: Martin Ney, 50, who became the number one suspect in the case. Sentenced to life in Germany in 2012, the man was convicted of the murder of three young boys and dozens of sexual assaults. The crimes of the man the German press dubbed "the man in black" had disturbing similarities to Jonathan's murder: age, mode of operation, cause of death. Except that the man has always denied. However, he confessed to a co-detainee. Yesterday, the German authorities handed the criminal over to the French authorities. The man was indicted for kidnapping and murder.

Convinced that Martin Ney is the man who killed his brother

For his sister Laeticia, now 28 years old, it is a great satisfaction. "It was very frustrating not to understand why the cases were solved in Germany and not ours", she confided to Parisian, January 23, 2021. More than anything, she hopes that this man will be tried for the murder of his brother. For the young woman, who hopes to also be able to begin a real mourning, there is no room for doubt: Martin Ney is indeed the man who killed his brother. "I am convinced of his involvement. It is my conviction. The chance would be far too great, it cannot be someone else." Laeticia also evokes her childhood shattered by this tragedy. "It remains a life built around suffering. We deal with it. We survive ". As of her majority, she says that she followed the investigation closely, having met the gendarmes in charge of the case. "It was an obsession. We absolutely had to find the one who had done that. At one point, I even wanted to join the gendarmerie", she adds.
