Murders, rides and humor for Alexandra Lamy, Audrey Lamy and Chloé Jouannet: what is Killer Coaster worth on Amazon Prime Video?

Amazon Prime Video releases “Killer Coaster” this Friday, September 15. Enter a dangerous funfair with Alexandra Lamy, Audrey Lamy and Chloé Jouannet in this crazy series, where humor and terror go hand in hand.

What is it about ?

Summer 1998. Palavas-les-Flots. While the World Cup is in full swing, Sandrine Laplace, a clumsy contract worker who thinks she’s a CIA agent, decides to investigate a mysterious accident that occurred on the ghost train at the local fairground.

Incompetent but reckless, Sandrine infiltrates a merciless world – made of clan wars, cotton candy and bumper cars – and will have to form an alliance with Carmen and Yvane, two fairground people who are completely opposed to each other. What if there was a killer at the carnival?

The first season of Killer Coaster consists of eight 26-minute episodes. They will be available on the Amazon Prime Video platform from Friday September 15, 2023.

Who is it with?

We find in the credits of Killer Coaster the sisters Audrey Lamy (Yvane) and Alexandra Lamy (Sandrine). Chloé Jouannet (Carmen), the latter’s daughter, completes the trio of our main characters. This is also their first collaboration as a family, all three of them.

Here they give the answer to Jean-Pierre Martins, Alex Lutz, Dominique Pinon, Oscar Berthe and Yvan Naubron. The series was created by Nikola Lange (who also directs) and Thomas Mansuy.

It’s worth checking out ?

Be careful, ze bartyyy!“, this is the phrase that we have all heard when daring to climb on a fairground ride… And it is also the first formula that comes to mind when embarking on a ride with the Killer series Coaster! More than ever, don’t forget to fasten your seat belts…

The least we can say is that Alexandra Lamy, Audrey Lamy and Chloé Jouannet pulled out all the stops for this first family reunion in a fiction! Having been looking for years for the right opportunity, they were naturally interested in this unique and crazy production, which corresponds to their expectations as actresses.

Involved in the creative process from the start, the actresses gave it their all… and it shows on the screen! With the help of Nikola Lange (friends with Chloé Jouannet since their collaboration in Derby Girl), the clan was very involved and had fun shaping these colorful characters.

Alexandra Lamy is extremely funny in her role as a rather loser contract worker, dreaming of investigations and excitement. Audrey Lamy, for her part, is astonishing in the fairground, swearing like a carter but with hidden fragility. Chloé Jouannet, finally, is convincing as a Lolita in Spice Girls outfits, living an impossible love in this microcosm.

The world of Killer Coaster is crazy and very marked, its rhythm frenzied. Our heroes, and more particularly our main trio, wear incredible looks, use catchy expressions and make references to 1990s pop culture. The punchlines fly, the humor is scathing and even crude at times!

The atmosphere of this amusement park in Palavas-les-Flots is so familiar to all of us and, in a way, comforting… Make no mistake, however: if the eight episodes are overflowing with fun and absurd moments, one darkness also hovers above this enclosure where roller coasters and cotton candy reign supreme.

Killer Coaster is a comedy but not only that. The jokes are mixed with thriller, even horror. In this way, the second part of the season becomes darker. The emotion is nevertheless present throughout the plot… Sensitive souls, you have been warned!

In summary, the atmosphere so nineties of this project is refreshing in our often gloomy times. The unbridled tone of the fiction and the dynamics between these different protagonists who are completely opposed contribute to its charm. We are curious to unravel the mystery of the investigation of Sandrine and her acolytes!

However, binge-watching the eight parts could prove indigestible as the identity of Killer Coaster is so strong… Breaking down the episodes would undoubtedly avoid a feeling of heaviness. But the fact remains that this series is a fairly unique object and we would be curious to go back for a second round.
