COME-BACK – More than three years after the release of their very pop 8th album “Simulation Theory”, the English trio rubs shoulders with metal with an explosive title that makes them even more eager to find them at a festival this summer.

They had never taken the time to sit down and breathe. In 20 years of existence. The pandemic forced the members of the Muse group to rest and gave them ideas. Matthew Bellamy, leader of the trio, took advantage of this break to record a solo title before getting back to teamwork.
“I like the idea of totally restarting and going back to where we came from. Physically relocating to our home town of Teignmouth, Devon, and going back to where we were at the very beginning”, he explained in 2020 to the magazine NME, evoking “a new album” – the 9th – followed by a tour “according to travel restrictions”.
Visiting three festivals in France this summer
These new concerts were announced several months ago. Passages among the biggest festivals in Europe from June, with French stops at the Eurockéennes de Belfort, Beauregard and Déferlantes. But with what new material? In response to the very pop 80s “Simulation Theory” released in the fall of 2018, the English are turning around to find their rock soul. A bit like they did with the previous album, “Drones”. “We were counting down the days… We are excited to share what we have been working on with you all. Enjoy!”, write Matthew Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard on Instagram.
Their first unreleased single in three years, “Won’t Stand Down”, should make the English trio’s first-time fans roar with delight. Fiery guitar riffs, almost broken voice, he rubs shoulders with metal while borrowing the band’s usual sounds. “It’s a song about standing up against bullies, whether it’s on the playground, at work, everywhere. You have to protect yourself from coercion and sociopathic manipulation, you have to face adversity with strength , confidence and aggressiveness”, insists Matthew Bellamy in a press release.
