Musk and Zuck, same fight?

At the end of last year, the new CEO of Twitter, Elon Musk, launched Twitter Blue, a paid formula giving access to various exclusive features, including (and above all) the precious certification checkmark. At the start of the year, the Meta group formalized a paying program: Verified.

For a few days now, Facebook’s parent company has been creating buzz with the launch of Threads, a “Twitter killer” which has already exceeded 100 million subscribers. Some already see it as a Twitter “as before”, both benevolent, free and filled with good vibes. But the firm of Mark Zuckerberg intends to make profitable its new tool, and this, from now on, with a subscription.

Instagram/Threads certification for 16.99 euros per month

Indeed, if Meta Verified was first tested in Australia and New Zealand, the paid program begins its deployment in the rest of the world. Some users have indeed been able to see a pop-up appear on Instagram inviting them to take out the precious subscription.

Among the main benefits of the Meta subscription is a “Verified” badge, like on Twitter. Added to this are increased account security, direct support, and access to more stickers. Two days after payment, the user receives his precious blue dot, which will be visible on Instagram (and a priori also on Threads).

On the price side, the Meta Verified offer is offered at a price of 16.99 euros per month in Europe and only available to users over 18 years of age. Meta says: You will need to provide a video selfie and official ID. »

For now, only certain users have access to the Meta Verified offer. The others are cordially invited to wait on a waiting list, the program being deployed.
