Musk seeks to block Twitter’s request for expedited trial

(Reuters) – Elon Musk on Friday filed a motion opposing Twitter’s request for an expedited trial, saying the court should reject the social network’s “unjustifiable request”.

Twitter filed a lawsuit in Delaware court on Tuesday against Elon Musk for breach of the $44 billion social network takeover contract, asking the US state court to compel the billionaire to finalize the deal at a price of $54 billion. $20 per share.

The social network then requested that the trial begin in September, the takeover agreement expiring on October 25.

The billionaire had decided to end the takeover agreement with Twitter, accusing the group of having breached its contractual obligations by providing in particular erroneous or incomplete data on the number of fake accounts. Twitter has dismissed those accusations.

Elon Musk’s lawyers have requested that the trial be held from February 13.

Twitter declined to comment.
