MW2 revolutionizes the movement system of CoD


With Modern Warfare 2, the Call of Duty license goes further than ever in the innovation of the movement system. Discover the mechanics planned in the new CoD.

Whether we’re talking about slide cancel, tactical sprint or opening doors, movement is at the heart of Call of Duty. On Modern Warfare in 2019, we could see the addition of different interesting systems such as tactical sprint or slide cancel. These additions have been welcomed by many critics in the community but Modern Warfare 2 does not want to stop there by adding more new features on the next opus of CoD.

Added Movement Systems to Modern Warfare 2

“Ledge Hang”

  • Modern Warfare 2 introduces a new feature that allows players to peek pistol in hand, all while hanging from a ledge or climbing a ladder.
  • This also applies to helicopters, as you can jump into a helicopter, grab onto the opening and climb inside.
  • If you miss a ledge while parachuting, you can also catch up.

To swim

  • Players can swim in Modern Warfare 2 as well as use guns and throwing knives underwater.
  • A dive mechanic allows players to escape or perform many aquatic maneuvers.
  • If the water is deep enough, vehicles can roll through the water.
  • Landmines deployed in water will float with the waves and can even destroy boats.

Warzone Vehicle Changes

Vehicle gameplay

  • A new feature allows players to lean through vehicle windows to fire. even the driver with a weapon equipped can enjoy it.
  • Climbing onto the roofs of vehicles is a feature that is coming to Warzone.
  • Players can set to damage doors, hoods, bumpers and blow up tires, which will affect how vehicles drive.

  • This new helicopter is quite similar to the Warzone truck. The rear platform allows free movement during flight.

Amphibious vehicles

  • Vehicles will not explode when you are in water. They will float for a while before sinking.
