Since good health also depends on good sleep, manufacturers of connected watches and activity sensors are placing more and more emphasis on its monitoring. Heart sensor, pulse oximeter to measure blood oxygen saturation, analysis of movements and even noise, so many sensors and algorithms implemented to analyze our nights and detect possible sleep apnea problems, for example example. If he is not new to the subject, Oppo has decided to make it the flagship feature of his Watch Free watch.

According to Oppo, the Watch Free is mainly aimed at young people, and its specific OSleep sleep monitoring function aims to respond to the problem of sleep disorders that more and more of them are experiencing.
To do this, the OSleep function is responsible for evaluating various risk parameters, related in particular to snoring and sleep apnea. Concretely, this involves continuous monitoring of SpO2 (pulsed oxygen saturation of the blood) and heart rate, thanks to the optical sensors of the watch. It is therefore able to determine the average blood oxygen level during sleep, as well as the number of snores and their volume, in order to detect possible respiratory problems.
Like any good sleep monitoring, the different phases (deep, light and paradoxical sleep) and their duration are calculated according to the measurements made by the sensors of the watch. Oppo says it has set up a research center with Tsinghua University to perfect its sleep tracking technology.
On the physical activity side, the Oppo Watch Free integrates 100 sports modes and automatically detects four of them (running, walking, elliptical trainer and rower). A coach is also available for running.
In terms of connectivity, there is of course the display of smartphone notifications and music control.
On the technical side, we benefit from a curved rectangular Amoled screen of 1.64 inches (280 x 456 pixels) and a 230 mAh battery providing up to 14 days of autonomy for the Oppo Watch Free. The watch is also water resistant to 5 ATM (50 m) and weighs only 32.6 g with its strap. Everything is powered by RTOS, an operating system that can also be found in Amazfit, Realme and OnePlus watches, for example.

The good news comes from its price, which does not exceed 100 €. The Watch Free will be available from March 24 in black or vanilla.
