During the show Face à Baba this Thursday, October 20, Cyril Hanouna gave the floor to the son of Jean-Baptiste Watel, violently attacked by a drug addict in the Porte de la Villette district, in early September in Paris. He made a tragic announcement as he revealed that his father had finally died of his injuries.
A scandalous attack. On September 9, Jean-Baptiste Watel, a 92-year-old man, was violently attacked on his return from a walk by a drug addict in the Porte de la Villette district, in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. After receiving a first blow to the skullthe nonagenarian was beaten and left lying in the lobby of his son’s building, with whom he lived every other week. Transported in a serious condition to the hospital, he suffered from two fractures of the pelvis with internal bleeding. His vital prognosis was engaged.
And this Thursday, October 20, the son of Jean-Baptiste Watel was invited on the set of C8, in the show Facing Baba. Jérôme Watel thus took advantage of his visit to make a tragic announcement. “My father passed away on Tuesday He died from his injuries and did not absorb the shock”he revealed in front of a Cyril Hanouna totally speechless. “That’s what we feared when you came. 92 years old… it’s more than sad…”still reacted the host.
“I cried all my tears”
“I have never cried so much in my life, I have never cried before and there I cried all my tears for a month and a half”reported the son of nonagenarian, before addressing the Minister of the Interior, Gerald Darmaninalso present on the board: “what happened when you installed the square forceval devil’s lair? What happened that you left us for a year in fear, in the face of crime. Being afraid to take your children out, to accompany them to the metro. To be afraid of receiving a blow from a cutter (..). My father died of it, why?”
On September 16, a week after the act committed against Jean-Baptiste Watel, his attacker was arrested with a pebble of crack in his possession. While in police custody, the 24-year-old young woman confessed to the facts and said she stole the victim’s wallet in order to buy a dose of crack. She was presented to an examining magistrate on September 19, then indicted for “counts of drug use and theft with violence with ITT for more than eight days.” She is currently in pre-trial detention.
