If you have subscribed to a bank account with Ma French Bank, bad news. The online-only agency announces the closure of its doors after barely six years of existence. Rest assured, your cash will not disappear overnight since the La Banque Postale subsidiary remains active until summer 2025.
Closure scheduled for summer 2025
The approximately 675,000 mobile banking customers have approximately one year to transfer their funds to a new bank. Ma French Bank has not reached its goal of one million accounts for 2025 despite arguments such as advantageous rates and a free debit card. It must be said that the subsidiary of La Banque Postale faced numerous criticisms with an absence of advisors by telephone or digitally.
The company also faced a lack of income with this very ambitious project for La Poste which is trying to diversify its activities beyond mail delivery. Too expensive, Ma French Bank is closing down, just like other digital banks in recent months: Orange Bank and HSBC France.
If you have an account with Ma French Bank, the announcement of the closure is not surprising since customers were informed in December 2023. Since then, an information letter has been sent to account holders in mobile banking.
