After several months of research into her origins, a woman discovered that her biological father was her mother’s gynecologist. An incredible story reported by the Seattle Time.
It’s a disturbing story told by Sharon Hayes. The 67-year-old American wanted to have a child several decades ago. Thus, this woman from Idaho resorted to medically assisted procreation (AMP) in a practice in Seatlle, in the state of Washington. She was thus able giving birth to her first daughter, Darci. When she wanted a second child, she turned to Dr. David R. Claypool, closer to her home. As she confided to Seattle Timesshe felt uncomfortable with the gynecologist from the start for reasons “difficult to pin down”. Finally, she managed to get pregnant after 6 months.
During her various attempts to get pregnant, the doctor told her that he was inseminating her with sperm from an anonymous donor. So, Brianna was born in June 1990. In 2022, she wanted to research her origins in order to learn more about her health problems. In fact, she was sick very often during her childhood. After being diagnosed with leukemia at age 4, she had Espein-Barr virus as a teenager. As an adult, she has already had hip surgery five times. “I was trying to find out what my predisposition was for other problems in the future.”she remembered.

Using the platforms 23andMe and MyHeritage, two genealogy databases, she researched her DNA. And she found with amazement that Dr. David R. Claypool had a profile on one of the platforms, and that the results of his DNA tests were compatible with hers. “I went through an identity crisis. It’s still ongoing. I have to accept the idea that someone committed this act on my mother. And that I am the result of it”, she explained. For her part, her mother had difficulty accepting the situation: “I was sick of it. I felt like the guinea pig in a scientific experiment.” A year later, she is still shocked and trying as best she can to rebuild herself… Sharon Hayes has decided to file a complaint against Dr. Claypool.
