A mother was sentenced to five years in prison for raping her two children over several years. The woman admitted the facts but also revealed that she had been forced by her husband.
Family drama is unfortunately not uncommon. While a 15-year-old teenager was recently arrested for murdering his parents and burning down the family home in Châteauvilain before fleeing, a father was arrested for the quintuple murder of his children and his partner in Meaux. Now a mother is in her turn convicted of raping her two children, at his various successive homes in Beuvrages and Anzin (North). These are our colleagues from The voice of the North which report the court decision pronounced by the Valenciennes criminal court on Thursday January 18.
The defendant found guilty admitted the facts which were perpetrated for five yearsbetween the months of January 2017 and March 2022, against its sons born between 2016 and 2018. The first of the two children was the victim of touching from the age of two and a half months, reports the daily. The defense explained that these acts had been committed at the request of the husbandviolent, who had become accustomed to threaten if she didn’t comply.

Children suffer from major disorders
In court, the mother, now 28 years old, explained: “My husband forced me to touch himotherwise he would hit me”. Rapes have been recorded “at least every week” For “calm” children, it was said. But the prosecutor noted that this violence continued well after the husband’s death in 2022, after he committed suicide.
The family had been followed by social services since 2016, but the two children were only placed three years later. Then, the mother allegedly took advantage of her visiting rights to commit further rapes. It was relatives who alerted the authorities when they detected a violent climate, and the children confirmed the facts. Besides, the two boys are considerably affected by these rapes to believe our colleagues. The eldest, now 8 years old, would have “inappropriate behavior with sexual connotations with little girls”, despite the fact that he has not had contact with his mother for almost two years. The youngest would be affected by a “significant psychological suffering” with a “psycho trauma”. Since the mother is deprived of her rights and in the absence of a father, children become wards of the state.

The defense attorney tried everything to reduce the required prison sentence. He spoke of the journey of his client, herself placed at three months to prevent her from suffering the same violence as her sisters raped and beaten by their father. We mentioned a woman “under the influence” of her violent husband, who would have made her experience a real “Calvary”. Placed under curatorship, she would present “deficiencies at all levels” and one “Below average IQ”. She had had a third child with another partner since then, a girl placed from September 2023.
