My Little Reindeer on Netflix: a scene with Teri was deleted… What did it contain?

Actress Nava Mau, who plays Teri in the Netflix series “My Little Reindeer”, reveals that a scene with her character was deleted from the final cut.

The My Little Reindeer phenomenon continues on Netflix. In this series, creator and actor Richard Gadd tells his own story, that of harassment he suffered for several years following his meeting with a customer at the bar in which he worked. Both poignant and terrifying, this surprise success left all subscribers speechless.

During the plot, Donny (Richard Gadd) finds comfort in his love story with Teri (Nava Mau), a trans woman – who will, a few episodes later, be physically threatened by Martha (Jessica Gunning), the stalker.

Unfortunately, this idyll does not end as one might wish. At the end of the series, Donny and Teri separate. The latter subsequently finds a new companion. However, the actress reveals to GQ that a scene, giving some hope for the continuation of their relationship, was deleted from the final cut.

A happy ending for Teri

There was an extra piece about Teri and Donny’s relationship in the script and we shot itshe explains. Teri leaves a voicemail on her answering machine five months later. So I think, for me, I can move on because Teri did it too. It’s comforting to know that they have found some form of peace in their relationship.

She continues: “Teri has her happy ending. She found a new man, she hasn’t lost her friends, she hasn’t lost her job, she hasn’t lost her smile. She’s doing well and I find that remarkable because so often we’ve seen stories of trans characters who end up broken.”

My Little Reindeer is available on Netflix.
