“My team is working to fix the problem”: warning from Johnny Depp, victim of scam


Sunday June 19, 2022, Johnny Depp wanted to send a message to his subscribers on social networks. He warned them against fake accounts in his name.

The 59-year-old actor who also got into music alongside his friend, guitarist Jeff Beck seems to have regained a taste for life. He shares more content on social networks, and has even created a TikTok account not long ago.

Faced with the increase in his popularity after the end of the trial, the actor of Pirates of the Caribbean has besides saw his number of subscribers increase. Sunday June 19, 2022, however, he wanted to inform his fans about a recent identity theft problem. “I was informed that there were fake accounts pretending to be me or people working with me. I don’t have any private account or additional account on any platform. These are the only pages managed by myself and my team on which we share information and on which we communicate” he wrote in his Instagram story.

Johnny Depp warns followers against fake accounts

Quite often, fake personality accounts take advantage of the notoriety of artists to scam their fans. Faced with this problem, Johnny Depp wanted to warn subscribers. “I ask you to remain vigilant, as it seems that these accounts are proliferating. My team is currently working to resolve the issue. Thank you for your continued support and alerting me to this issue. Love and respect. J.D.” he concluded.

This little clarification from the father of Lily-Rose and Jack Depp could allow to prevent fans from falling into the trap. As he recalled, the interpreter of Captain Jack Sparrow only has Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Discord, with certified accounts.
