Coldplay and BTS are both extremely successful. The megabands are now teaming up for the single “My Universe” – and singing in two languages.

The British musicians from Coldplay (“Speed ​​of Sound”) and the South Korean K-pop sensation BTS (“Dynamite”) are both extremely successful worldwide. For the single “My Universe”, the megabands are now surprisingly teaming up – and doing so in two languages.

The classic love song, the as well as the accompanying lyric video has been on the market since Friday, wrote Coldplay around frontman Chris Martin (44) and BTS together. The English chorus translates into German: “You, you are / my universe / and I just want to put you first / … and you make my heart shine from within”. BTS sing other parts of the lyrics in their native Korean.

“My Universe” was produced by none other than Swede Max Martin (50), who in his long career has already made hits like “… Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears (39), “I Want It That Way” from the Backstreet Boys and “It’s My Life” by Bon Jovi.

Another harbinger of Coldplay’s ninth studio album “Music Of The Spheres”

Martin last produced the hit “Higher Power” for Coldplay, released in May, the first single from their upcoming ninth studio album “Music Of The Spheres”, which will be released on October 15th. It contains “Higher Power” and “My Universe” as well as the melodic “Coloratura”, which the band released on July 23 of this year.

Also in July, Chris Martin and Co. also posted one Album trailer titled “Overtura” on YouTube. It’s an animated journey through the album’s planetary artwork, combined with short clips of the twelve new tracks.

The British Coldplay musicians, who have been making music together since 1996, have so far sold around 80 million records worldwide. Her South Korean K-Pop colleagues from BTS, who only got off to a flying start in 2013, meanwhile have sold just over 44.1 million records.
