At the end of 2021, the French Tech ecosystem gave birth to a new connected product project. This time, it is a piece of jewelry, a bracelet that alerts loved ones in case of danger. It is aimed primarily at women.

But as mentioned recently in our columns about a technological solution to save sperm whales in Greece, some ideas are a little more laudable than others. So, is MyEli’s one of them?
This product created by the Bordeaux entrepreneur Ludivine Romary is a jewel connected by Bluetooth with the smartphone, linked to a 100% customizable mobile app which allows you to alert your loved ones in case of danger. In fact, the object offers two main functionalities: with one click, it is possible to send its position, its GPS tracking and an emergency message/call to a list of predefined contacts (up to five contacts), while that two clicks are used to send a message indicating that the user has returned home safely. This is the starting point affirmed by the company, which explains that it designed the bracelet mainly for women, after the MeToo phenomenon.

Other features are configurable. It is for example possible to trigger an audible alarm on the mobile in order to scare away an attacker, or to trigger an audio recording of the action. Compatible with Android and iOS, the bracelet is connected via Bluetooth Low Energy – up to a maximum of 30 m from the smartphone – and its CR1225 battery offers a battery life of between eight months and a year.
The company is diversifying its catalog a bit after winning the 2022 Innovation Award at CES in Las Vegas. We learn that a model with a leather strap is now intended for men, and that new colors for the main model will be available from October 2022. All models are marketed at a price of 95 €.
