For years, the Galaxy S series has consisted of three models. In addition to the basic version, Samsung will also be releasing a Plus and an Ultra version in spring. In recent years, Samsung has added a so-called fan edition, or FE for short, to these months later. The Galaxy S23 FE, which is actually due, shone with its absence at Samsung’s Unpacked event in July.

In Seoul, Samsung only introduced the Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Galaxy Watch 6 and Tab S9. That fueled rumors about the future of the FE series. In the past few months, the Galaxy S23 FE had been declared dead by many leakers before new leaks appeared again. Now a Samsung manager is said to have confirmed the existence of the cell phone to the AndroidAuthority website.

Galaxy S23 FE is a work in progress

In an interview with Justin Hume, Vice-President of mobile at Samsung South Africa, the online magazine asked whether there wasn’t a “big” gap in the portfolio between the S23 and the Galaxy A54. The manager replied with a laugh: “There’s an FE-sized gap at the moment.” A corresponding announcement will be made soon, according to AndroidAuthority.

It remains to be seen whether the cell phone will appear in Europe and specifically in Germany. Rumor has it that Samsung will only release it in selected markets.
