Nagui is a real businessman. According to information from Capital this Wednesday, May 25, the host of France 2 recently pocketed a very nice check thanks to his investments within the production group Banijay. Our colleagues indeed reveal that the sale of part of his shares brought him a few million euros.
Nagui pocket the jackpot! This Wednesday, May 25, Capital reveals that the host of France 2 won a small fortune thanks to the sale last fall of part of its shares in Banijay Group, in which he is a shareholder. By reselling only 0.1% of its shares to the production company itself, he recouped the incredible sum of1.26 million euros.
At the end of 2018, Nagui held 5.3% of capital of the Stéphane Courbit group, representing a value of 23 million euros at the time. But the husband of Mélanie Page therefore wanted to wait a few years before making his investments grow, because in just four years, the company has appreciated in value, a lot of value. In effect, between 2018 and 2021, it fell from 465 million euros to one billion euros. Moment chosen by the leader to sell the 0.1% of his capital. Now listed on the stock exchange, Banijay Group has a value of around 2 billion euros (5 billion with debt), specifies Capital.
Banijay Group, the world’s leading independent producer
How to explain such a success? Banijay Group produces a number of hit shows including Do not forget the lyrics Where Taratata for France 2, programs presented precisely by Nagui. But Stéphane Courbit’s group also developed well because it successively bought out serious competitors, namely Zodiak then Endemol, which enabled it to become the leading independent producer in the world. Contacted by Capital, neither Nagui nor his press officer François Doux wished to answer their questions.
