Nail polish: These celebrity men like it colored

Steven Tyler, Post Malone, Harry Styles: they all show themselves off with painted nails. Color varnish is no longer just a woman's business.

Is nail polish only to be found in women's cosmetics? Not because of: Kurt Cobain (1967-1994) and David Bowie (1947-2016) had already discovered the color varnish for themselves. Today the beauty product seems to have found its way into the male toiletry bag long ago. From Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards (76) to Hollywood Vampires co-founder Johnny Depp (57) to Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler (72, "Dream On"): They all don’t stop at the paint on your fingernails.

The nail polish as a statement

As a rule, the men use black nail polish, which reflects the rather dark and harsh image of their music. The younger generation is increasingly showing that there is another way. What caused a stir when singer Harry Styles (26, "Watermelon Sugar") appeared at the Met Gala 2019 with a frilled blouse, earring and nail polish? Lacquer on men's nails suddenly became a fashion statement and more and more musicians picked it up.

So it is no longer surprising when US rapper A $ AP Rocky (31) shows himself with painted flags and smileys on his fingernails. Adam Lambert (38) and Post Malone (25, "Circles") prefer to stick with classic black instead.

It's not just musicians who use paint

Marc Jacobs (57) is much more colorful. Because even outside the music industry, nail polish seems to be popular with men. The turquoise paint on the US fashion designer's fingernails cannot be overlooked. Just like the white, the "Glee" actor Darren Criss (33) has applied, or Brooklyn Beckham's (21) red variant.
