Micro manicure is called THE nail polish trend 2021. What exactly that is – and how you can imitate it, we'll tell you here.

2020 – the year of tackling. After all, at times we had to save the seven-week-old manicure ourselves or cut off the split ends. However, there was also something good about it: We're trying more out again. We promise you, you will also want to try out the ultimate nail polish trend for 2021, because it is suuuuuper easy!

Micro manicure – the most beautiful nail art trend 2021

While in 2020 rainbow nails and monochrome designs were all we wanted, in 2021 we are going for a trend that has already existed in a similar way. Micro Manicure – also known as Micro French – is the new big thing in nail art.

In principle, the micro manicure looks exactly like typical French nails – except that the colored tip at the front is ultra thin. The nail design doesn't look so striking, but rather subtle and hardly visible at first glance. Since the tip should be as fine and thin as possible, you cannot of course just paint on it with the nail polish brush. This nail design requires a steady hand and precision.

Micro manicure: this is how it works

  1. Apply a neutral or transparent polish to your nails as a base and let it dry well. It looks particularly beautiful when the varnish gives the nails a touch of pastel color. This is how it looks particularly neat in the end.
  2. Now put a dab of the colored lacquer on a glass plate or a coaster.
  3. Pick up some paint with a very fine, narrow brush. This can be a nail art brush, for example, but a pointed eyeliner brush should also do the job.
  4. Now you paint with the brush along the nail edges. Depending on the shape of the nails, the Micro French can of course be straight or round.

tip: If you have problems drawing lines of the same thickness on both hands, you can use a somewhat unconventional trick. Simply put a blob of nail polish on your thumb (not on the nail, but on the skin on the inside). Now you simply run your colored thumb along the nail edge of the other hand. That makes a mess at first, but it actually makes the line really accurate and straight. Don't worry, you can simply wipe off the excess paint with a cotton swab and some nail polish remover.
