Nail polish trends for fall 2020

We'll tell you which nail polish trends will be trending for autumn 2020. We only say this much: It won't be discreet!

No more pastel, neon and holiday colors – our fingernails get a new coat of paint in autumn. Of course, classics like red or pink will always be in fashion, but this autumn it will be more colorful than it has been for a long time.

Ultramarine Green

At the autumn / winter shows, Ultramarine Green was one of THE hottest colors. It's logical that we now also wear them on our fingernails. The color looks particularly beautiful with a little shimmer in it, such as the tone "Stop Shop and Roll" from the new Morgan Taylor collection.

Burnt orange

“Burnt orange is by far one of my favorite fall colors,” says nail stylist Mimi D VOGUE.com. A classic! But also a bright orange can shine on our nails this autumn – we take the typical summer color with us into the transition period.

Reddish brown

Mei Kawajiri, who makes the nails of Emily Ratajkowski pretty, among other things, swears by reddish-brown autumn vibes on her nails. We can understand! This is the perfect mix for autumn, especially when the tone is neither too brown nor too red. Your favorite (and that of many others) is "Bitter bitch"by Tom Ford.

Touch of blue

As in summer, strong shades of blue are still trendy. Nail stylist Sylvia Macmillan also relies on the tone in autumn: "I love to wear bright colors in autumn when my wardrobe gets a little darker," she reveals in an interview with VOGUE.com. A blue nail polish is a great contrast to a black outfit. She is right, that is definitely noticeable, but at the same time it is not too conspicuous. Tip: The cooler the blue, the more modern the look.

Muted purple

Purple and violet tones just scream for autumn. On our fingernails, we're not wearing the tone this season in a gaudy and conspicuous way, but a bit calmer and more relaxed. It's feminine and still bold – the perfect mix for everyone who wants color but doesn't want too much color.
