Broadcast since 2019 on The CW, the “Nancy Drew” series, available in France on Salto, will stop and will not have a season 5. It joins “Flash” and “Riverdale” among the fictions of the American channel which will soon say goodbye.

Adapted from the best-selling novels by Carolyn Keene, the CW series led by Kennedy McMann will end at the end of its fourth season, which will be broadcast in the coming months across the Atlantic.
Cut to please fans of Riverdale and Veronica Mars, Nancy Drew tells the adventures of an 18-year-old budding detective who, following the death of her mother, postponed her university projects and now works as a waitress at Horseshoe Bay, his small hometown.
While she had sworn to solve no more crimes, the murder of a young woman, which could well be linked to an old ghost story, will propel her despite herself into an investigation that is beyond her and will force her to unearth deeply buried secrets.
Each season of Nancy Drew, which also includes Scott Wolf (Life of Five), Riley Smith (Frequency), Leah Lewis (If You Knew…) and Alex Saxon (Finding Carter) in its cast, focuses on a new investigation led by the heroine and her band of friends.

And that the fans are reassured, the head writers of the series already promise a real satisfying end: “Season 4 will live up to the unwavering love and support [des fans] and will be a resounding conclusion”.

Comedian Kennedy McMann, who was revealed by the role of Nancy Drew, also spoke following the announcement of the end of the series: “What a pleasure to have started my career by contributing my stone to the building of the endless legacy of Nancy Drew. And what a privilege to have embodied her during these few years, to have been inspired by her and to growing up with her.
While season 3 ended last January in the United States, The CW channel has not yet announced the launch date for the fourth and final season, which should arrive on the air during the first half of the year. 2023.
In France, the first two seasons of Nancy Drew are available exclusively on the Salto streaming platform.
The series joins Riverdale and The Flash as CW original dramas that will end during the 2022-2023 season. A spin-off, titled Tom Swift, was launched last May, without success. This derivative series having been canceled after only a very short season of 10 episodes.
