SMART HOME

Nanoleaf is known for lighting that skilfully sets the scene in the smart home. At the CES 2023, the manufacturer is presenting its first ceiling lamp called Skylight.

  • Nanoleaf’s first ceiling light provides both bright (day) light and ambient lighting.
  • The smart lamp is compatible with the Matter standard.
  • Skylight consists of square modules and can also be used for music visualization.

The CES 2023 in Las Vegas has started and Nanoleaf is also using this framework to present several new products. In our opinion, the smart lamp called Skylight is particularly interesting. It is the company’s first ceiling lamp, which is in direct competition with the Philips Hue portfolio, for example. So far, Nanoleaf has focused primarily on light strips and wall lighting.

Skylight consists of several modular RGBW LED panels and can display over 16 million colors. Since each panel can be controlled individually, you can quickly adapt the lamp to your furnishing style or the required lighting situation. In addition, the lamp is compatible with the Matter standard, and Skylight acts as a thread border router if required.

Other equipment highlights include an ambient light sensor and a motion detector. There is also the option of feeding the lamp content from the smartphone (screen mirroring) or using it to visualize the music being played.

price and availability

According to the manufacturer, the Nanoleaf Skylight lamp will be available from the third quarter of 2023. Nanoleaf does not yet provide information on the price. We summarize other innovations from the CES for you here.
