On Saturday, around 10:30 p.m., a 24-year-old woman was run over by a car as she crossed the road on a pedestrian crossing in Nantes. The serious accident took place at 188 rue Paul-Bellamy, near the Rennes roundabout.
The victim, transported to the emergency room of the city’s university hospital with an uninitiated vital prognosis, suffered fractures to the left fibula, left arm and tibia.

Registration raised
For his part, the driver had fled after the impact. He was actively sought by the police who had noted his registration and had been able to hear a witness of the facts.
The respondent finally went himself to the central police station in Waldeck-Rousseau the next day. In the process, the 39-year-old man was auditioned and placed in police custody. According to Presse Océan, the latter would have explained to the police that he had “feared upon hearing of the victim’s injuries among the crowd present at the time of the accident.

The police custody of the offending driver ended Sunday evening according to the Departmental Directorate of Public Security. The preliminary investigation will continue in order to make additional findings, particularly on the vehicle involved.
