Naomi Campbell talks about hot flashes: ‘It just happens’

A moment in the fourth episode of Apple TV+’s docuseries “The Super Models” reveals how the 53-year-old suddenly becomes nervous during a photo shoot. Looking sweaty, the London-born catwalk beauty huffs: “I just got in the oven.” According to the Daily Mail, a male voice was then heard asking her if she was okay. “No, I think I’m menopausal,” Campbell replies. “It’s the early phase, the premenopause.” When asked in the documentary series whether she would like a bit of wind to cool herself down, Campbell said: “No, there’s nothing you can do about it. It just happens.” “Naomi obviously goes through menopause like every woman,” the director also stated.

The supermodel is in the early stages of menopause

The preliminary stage of menopause usually begins in the mid-40s and can last for a few years. It heralds the actual start of menopause, which begins as soon as you haven’t had your period for twelve months. During premenopause, a woman’s ovaries gradually produce less progesterone and symptoms such as hot flashes and mood swings may begin to appear.
