In the past few weeks, the tennis world had wondered where Naomi Osaka (25) was. Most recently, she had canceled her participation in the Australian Open, as the organizers announced. The tennis player has now returned with a sweet message after numerous speculations and also revealed why she will not be there: Naomi Osaka is pregnant.
“Can’t wait to get back on the court but here’s a little life update for 2023” Osaka wrote on Instagram and Twitter to an ultrasound picture. In a statement that was also attached, the athlete enthused: “I know that I can look forward to so much in the future.” One thing she’s looking forward to is “my kid watching one of my matches and saying to someone, ‘This is my mom’.”
No long baby break?
2023 will be “a year full of lessons” for Osaka, but she hopes to meet her fans in the coming year.
