NASA: the launch of the Artemis 1 rocket to follow live and in VR

53 years after man’s first steps on the moon, the NASA is about to reach a new milestone with the launch of the rocket Artemis I. This first test flight aims to certify the unmanned spacecraft Orion and the launcher, with a view to sending new crews to our satellite from 2024.

How to watch the launch of the Artemis I rocket?

The NASA is preparing to launch next August from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral the spacecraft Orion CM-002 and its brand new launcher, Artemis I. On this occasion, the immersive production studio Felix & Paul has partnered with Meta Quest and other distribution partners around the world to deliver a unique experience. Indeed, the takeoff of the rocket will be broadcast in 8K, VR 360°. The live stream will be accessible on Venues in Horizon Worlds, Facebook 360 (on the page Facebook Space Explorers), platforms of streaming 5G at 360° and in a number of planetariums.

A unique experience that marks the beginning of a new space adventure

For Felix Lajeunesseco-founder and creative director of Felix & Paulthis mission will be an opportunity to live a unique experience:

The Apollo missions were televised around the world in black and white, but the Artemis generation will experience the upcoming moon missions and future Mars missions in an immersive and experiential way. This first immersive live stream is part of our ongoing mission that began with our Space Explorers series, to inspire audiences to take humanity’s next giant leap in human space exploration.

In effect, Felix & Paul has already been noticed thanks to Space Explorers: The ISS Experiencean award-winning 360° series Emmy Awards and filmed aboard the ISS. Developed in collaboration with the NASA, each episode allows you to discover the life of the astronauts working on board the space station. It was while filming this series that the studio designed a 360° camera designed for use in a zero-G environment. It allowed them to capture a spacewalk by VR for the first time. While waiting for August, if you like space and astronomy, we can only advise you to try sky gazea virtual reality experience that allows you to transform your living room into a planetarium thanks to mixed reality.

If you haven’t taken the plunge yet, you can treat yourself to a Oculus Quest 2 at the house of Bakerthe Fnac, Darty or Amazon for €349.99. You can also find good PCs for gamers there.
