Nathalie Elimas: the Secretary of State targeted by an investigation for harassment and abuse


Nathalie Elimas, Secretary of State for Priority Education, is currently the subject of an administrative investigation, accused of having harassed some of her collaborators, as several sources told AFP on Saturday January 15.

On the evening of January 15, theFrance Media Agency revealed that Nathalie Élimas was in the sights of an administrative investigation. The purpose of this inspection? Accusations of bullying and abuse in the cabinet of the Secretary of State in charge of‘priority education, a 48-year-old politician who joined the government in July 2020. Among the sources interviewed by AFP, the Ministry of Education confirmed that aadministrative inquiry“is currently in progress”on the operation of human resources in Ms. Élimas’ firm”.

For the moment, the investigations would be at a preliminary stage, as the Ministry of National Education put it: “There is no fixed date, at this stage, for the submission of the report.” The investigation against Nathalie Élimas would have started at the dawn of 2022. AFP pointed out that the latter did not wish to comment. The Office of the Secretary of State, for its part, clarified: “The Ministry has asked the General Inspectorate for Education, Sport and Research (IGESR) to conduct an internal inspection within the firm of the Secretary of State, in order to shed light on any difficulties related to professional relationships within the office.” To be continued.

Nathalie Élimas is not the first member of the government to do subject of an investigation in this way.
