Haris Seferovic: Not upset, but it’s a shame anyway. This title would have been the icing on the cake for a really great season. But I was able to win the title two years ago and Pedro Goncalves earned it too.
Have you saved a few goals for the European Championship?
I hope so! I haven’t met at a European Championship yet.
Do you have another goal?
Come as far as you can and stay healthy.

Not all of your Nati colleagues played regularly in their clubs. Some lack match practice. Is that why you are concerned?
Of course, it’s an advantage if you play regularly. You are in the rhythm. But I’m not worried about that. We will all be ready. Maybe they’re even fresher.
Are you still fresh?
Well how to take it. The season has been very exhausting. The last time I was on vacation was last year. At the beginning of the year I got Corona. After the games I felt more drained lately. It took me a day longer to regenerate, but on match days I was fully ready again. And an EM releases forces anyway.
Five years ago at the European Championships in France, your wife Amina was at every game and you could see each other in between. This is now prohibited because of Corona. Amina and daughter Inaya keep their fingers crossed in front of the TV at home?
No. You will be in the stadiums at the games. We have been home far too often in the past few months. Traveling will be good for Amina too.
And Inaya will stay with her grandparents?
No, she’s coming with Amina.
W.Shouldn’t the grandparents take care of them?
Yes, there is no lack of will. But Inaya is such a real mommy child.
But you don’t miss out on your daughter, do you?
No no. Certainly not. But Mommy is the greatest for them. For me, it’s nice to know that both of them will be in the stadium when we play.
The stadiums will not be more than half full …
… Yes. Then at least I’ll have a chance to find them in the stands.
Aside from Amina and Inaya, where else do you get weak?
With chocolate. I have to hide each of them from myself. (Laughs)
As a professional footballer, are you even allowed to eat chocolate?
Yes, I can. I can eat and drink whatever I want. It depends on the amount. Every now and then a Coke or a Fanta is already in there. All in all, however, I am already eating a balanced and healthy diet.
Because of Corona, the European championship had to be postponed by one year to summer 2021. From June 11th to July 11th, Switzerland and 23 other teams in eleven countries will fight for the title.
