The Vox party had a great electoral success in the regional elections on February 13: Compared to the previous election in May 2019, they improved from 5.5 to 17.6 percent. The number of their seats increased from one to 13. The conservative People’s Party PP had become the strongest force again, but only won 31 of 81 seats in the regional parliament in Valladolid.
There is no cross-party agreement in Spain not to work with the extreme right. So far, the PP has repeatedly had support from Vox MPs at the state level.

The left-wing government in Madrid under Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez had warned the PP against collaborating with the extreme right. It was “dangerous” to “throw yourself into the arms of Vox,” said Deputy Prime Minister Teresa Ribera immediately after the election.
A grand coalition with the Socialists in power in Madrid was impossible because of the usually very aggressive and sometimes personally hurtful nature of the dispute between the two largest parties.
