National League on Friday – Great emotions in Ambri – ZSC Lions give up 4-0 lead – Sport

  • Ambri wins an emotional derby against HC Lugano 2-1.
  • The EHC Kloten returns to winning ways against the Lakers after 3 defeats.
  • The ZSC Lions unnecessarily give up a point against Ajoie, Biel wins in Zug, Freiburg is washed up in Lausanne.

Ambri – Lugano 2:1

A goal like this is more valuable than others: 19-year-old Tommaso De Luca scored Ambri in the 53rd minute in the first derby of the season against HC Lugano to a 2-1 win – and the Leventiners in second place behind leaders ZSC. Dominik Kubalik (9th/power play) and Marco Müller (13th) ensured a 1-1 score that lasted for a long time. The game was tough, especially in the final third. First Ambri’s crowd favorite Inti Pestoni scored after a fine individual performance to make it supposedly 2-1 – but Lugano coach Luca Gianinazzi took a successful challenge.

After De Luca’s valid opening goal, the Luganesi celebrated 37 seconds later. Michael Joly equalized – again supposedly, because Luca Cereda’s challenge was also successful, the score remained 2-1. In the last two minutes, the efficient home team (26:40 shots) successfully defended against 6 field players from the guests – and missed a number of chances on the empty net, sometimes miserably.

Ice hockey players celebrate on the ice, one wearing a 'Top Scorer' helmet.

Subdued the arch-rival

Cheers from Ambri-Piotta (Zwerger, Landry, Maillet, Kubalik, Virtanen).

Kloten – Lakers 3:0

The airport town team jumped back over the playoff mark with their first win after three recent defeats. The success for coach Lauri Marjamäki’s team was deserved, the Finns were worried about the goals. Miro Aaltonen opened the score with a wrist shot (3rd) and ended the evening with an empty netter. In between, Niko Ojamäki, who was free in front of the goal, scored with a rebound (46th). The Lakers suffered their 4th away defeat in a row.

ZSC Lions – Ajoie 5:4 nV

Hardly anyone in the audience would have expected that when the score was 4-0 for the ZSC Lions after 47 minutes: the leader had to go into extra time against bottom team Ajoie. Two goals with a numerical tie (Bastien Pouilly, Marco Pedretti) as well as two advantaged advantage situations (Philip-Michael Devos, Jerry Turkulainen 16 seconds before the third siren) made the (half) miracle possible for Ajoie. In overtime, Juho Lammiko humorlessly secured Zurich’s victory.

Zug – Biel 1:3

EHC Biel surprised the EVZ despite a false start and the hosts’ clear superiority in the first half of the game. Biel keeper Harri Säteri looked unhappy when Daniel Vozenilek’s power play goal (3rd) – before the Finn became the big figure of the game. Säteri fended off 43 shots from Zug. The people in front of him got the job done thanks to an increase. Viktor Lööv (26th), Jérémie Bärtschi in the majority (46th) and Johnny Kneubühler in the empty goal (59th) scored for the Zealanders. Zug’s Mike Künzle remained ineffective against his ex-colleagues.

Lausanne – Freiburg 6:0

Lausanne and Freiburg played the roughest game of the evening. The teams exchanged a lot of spite. From a sporting point of view, however, the matter was decided prematurely. After 38 minutes, the Vaudois led 4-0. Ken Jäger was the only double goalscorer of the game in the final third. After another slap in the face, Freiburg is now four points behind 12th place.
