  • Davos loses in the National League for the second time in 24 hours in a penalty shootout. Lausanne gets the extra point on Saturday.
  • Ambri delighted his home crowd in the 5-1 win against Bern.
  • Freiburg goes away empty handed by Ajoie despite 56 (!) shots on goal.

Davos – Lausanne 3: 4 nP

Unlike on Friday in Geneva, Davos sunk one of his 5th penalty attempt in the home game against Lausanne. But it wasn’t enough for the extra point. On the Vaud side, Damien Riat and Robin Kovacs were ice-cold in their attempts and didn’t give Sandro Aeschlimann a chance. HCD has to take it upon itself that it didn’t close the sack after 60 minutes. The Grisons had earned a 2-0 lead early on. Although Lausanne was able to equalize in the meantime, it was Davos again who, in the 47th minute, made it 3-2 through Klas Dahlbäck. Once again, Christian Wohlwend’s team couldn’t make ends meet. Riat saved Lausanne, who were clearly inferior in the third period (21:7 degrees for Davos), with the 3:3 (52nd) in extra time.

Ambri – Berne 5: 1

Ambri got off to a great start. The “Biancoblu” followed the 2-1 win after extra time in Freiburg with a convincing 5-1 win against Bern. SCB found an answer to the initial deficit in the first third, but after Tim Heed’s 2-1 win over Ambri, the guests bit their teeth on home goalie Janne Juvonen. The Finn made a very confident impression and the men in front struck on the offensive. The two Czechs Filip Chlapik (25th) and Michael Spacek (40th) increased the lead to 4:1 with 2 powerplay hits in the middle period. At the latest after Valentin Hofer’s 5:1 (51 st ) the mass in the Valascia was read.

Biel – Geneva 2:0

2nd game, 2nd complete success for the Seeländer. As on Friday in the 3:2 in Lausanne, Biel had to work hard to get the 3 points against Geneva. The Servettiens tried to keep the strong Bielers in check with their usual physical style. This was also excellent, but only with numerical equality on the ice. The special teams made the difference in the Tissot Arena. Both the 1-0 by Gaëtan Haas (11th) and the 2-0 by Tino Kessler (52nd) came from a Biel majority. Harri Säteri in the EHCB gate defused all 27 shots by the guests and celebrated the 1st shutout in his 2nd assignment on Swiss ice.

Train – SCL Tigers 5:3

Langnau took the momentum from the surprising start win against the ZSC Lions into the guest appearance in Zug. In the middle of the game, the underdog was still 3:1 ahead of the champions. From then on, however, the Tigers were almost exclusively confronted with defensive work. And the Emmental defense was unable to withstand the wave of attacks from Zug. With a double strike within 67 seconds, the Central Swiss equalized the score thanks to Christian Djoos (37th) and Lino Martschini (38th). In the final section, the people of Zug could no longer be stopped. In the 42nd minute, Peter Cehlarik scored the game-winning goal to make it 4:3, Fabrice Herzog put the lid on (44th).

Ajoie – Freiburg 4:2

56 times: That’s how many times Gottéron shot the Ajoies box. However, 54 of these attempts fell prey to Tim Wolf. The Jurassic goalkeeper kept the front men open to a possible surprise thanks to a tremendous performance. And indeed Ajoie grabbed. The team from Pruntrut gained a 2-goal lead twice, Freiburg caught up in each case, but nothing more. Steven Macquat caused ecstasy in the stadium with the 4:2 into the empty goal 5 seconds before the final siren.
