National League on Tuesday – Big points for ZSC against Bern – Langnau defeats the Lakers – Sport

  • In the National League, the ZSC Lions beat leaders Freiburg and also pursuers Bern.
  • The SCL Tigers return to winning ways against the Lakers after two defeats.
  • Lugano clearly loses to Zug and Kloten clearly loses the basement duel with Ajoie.

ZSC Lions – Bern 4:1

Until two minutes before the end, SC Bern had hope that they could somehow escape into extra time – at that point, from Bern’s perspective, the score was only 1:2. But a late double strike by Denis Malgin and Justin Sigrist within 12 (!) seconds dashed any SCB hopes. In the first third, Juho Lammikko gave the hosts the lead after just 27 seconds. Mikko Lehtonen added in the middle section (32′), before Bern’s Julius Honka was able to reduce the deficit shortly afterwards (36′). With the 3 points, the Zurich team secured further big points for the top of the table after the away win against leader Freiburg. There is now a gap of 10 points between the Lions’ 2nd place and the Bernese’s 4th place.

SCL Tigers – Lakers 2:1

Shortly before the end there was tension again in the Ilfishalle: Lakers striker Nicklas Jensen scored the 1-2 goal in the 58th minute. However, the St. Gallen team was no longer able to equalize. The Emmental team finally secured their second home win in a row thanks to two goals in the majority. Flavio Dirt (19th) and Aleksi Saarela got on the scoresheet just 39 seconds after the start of the third period with one man more on the ice.

Lugano – train 1:4

First a whopping 6 wins in a row and now after the 3:4 against Lausanne on Saturday the 2nd defeat in a row for Lugano. The Ticino team had to admit defeat to EV Zug 1:4. After just 56 seconds, the guests were in the lead after a goal from Andreas Wingerli and the second goal followed before the first break. Lugano was able to make the game more balanced as a result, but still had to concede a goal in the middle and final thirds. With this victory, the Zugers remain close to the top duo Freiburg and ZSC.

Ajoie – Kloten 5:2

Ajoie clearly won the “6-point game” at the bottom of the table against direct competitor Kloten 5-2. This means that the Jurassians have moved within 4 points of the Zurich Unterländer, with 2 games less. The decisive figures for the home team were two Canadians: striker Daniel Audette was responsible for the can opener after 10 minutes, made it 3-0 at the beginning of the second third and delivered a pass shortly before the siren to make it 4-0. Offensive defenseman Éric Gelinas contributed 2 goals, making it 5-1 with one less player on the ice.

Ajoies Hazen and Gelinas cheer.

Biel – Freiburg 2:1 aet

Despite only one win from the last 5 games, Biel pulled off a surprise against league leaders Freiburg. Toni Rajala secured the victory for the Zealanders with his goal in the 4th minute of extra time. A deflected shot by Ramon Tanner gave the home team the lead after 17 minutes, and Jacob de la Rose (46th) equalized for Freiburg.

Lausanne – Ambri 1:2 aet

Thanks to a 2-1 win after a direct duel at Lausanne, Ambri has caught up with the French-speaking Swiss in terms of points in the middle of the table. Jesse Virtanen’s goal in the 17th minute – after great work from Dario Bürgler – was supposed to be the only goal of the game until shortly before the end, but Damien Riat saved his team into extra time in the 59th minute. Bürgler became the match winner just 11 seconds after the restart.
