In Romania, soldiers have again found debris from a suspected Russian drone near the border with Ukraine. As the Defense Ministry of the NATO member state announced in Bucharest, the drone parts found on Romanian territory near the village of Plauru in Tulcea County are similar to the drones used by the Russian military. Drone debris had already been found a few kilometers away at the beginning of the week.

The Romanian military will continue search operations, the Defense Ministry announced. Romania has also taken “measures to strengthen surveillance and airspace security” after repeated Russian attacks on Ukrainian ports and infrastructure on the Danube not far from the border. NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg said on Thursday that there was no evidence that Russia was specifically attacking the NATO country Romania.

Ukrainian Danube ports not far from the border with Romania have become one of the most important export ports for Ukrainian grain since Russia left the grain agreement in July.
