A new job offer has just been born at Sony, concerning the post of Senior Producer for PlayStation. We also learn that they are in the process of setting up a whole new development team with a clear goal: release a new AAA game.
The project in question has obviously not been announced, but some speculation is still in order, and a few clues may point to something.
A shock team
Although it has not been announced, it is known that the project in question will have Naughty Dog and PSS Visual Arts cooperatingthe studio that first started development on The Last of Us Part 1. Both would have been contacted by Sony PlayStation to help create a new blockbuster, with a roadmap already well mapped out.
PlayStation also mentions that the person hired must have experience: at least 5 years in development, at least 2 years as a producer at the head of a team of at least 20 people, and 2 or more AAA games already released. Just that !
What to expect ?
This is obviously speculation, but two theories can hold water at present.
The most plausible seems to be that ofUncharted 5. Back in April, Naughty Dog’s hiring manager shared a rather cryptic message on LinkedIn. In addition to saying that the Californian studio was recruiting, she told us about the importance that the “legacy of Uncharted” had for her and her family. Shady, but the timing is pretty well chosen.
The second hypothesis could be that of a The Last of Us 3PSS Visual Arts having contributed greatly to the remake of TLOU 1. But no clue for this one.
In any case the bets are open, the answer in several years!
