There are plenty of cookies, Christmas songs on an endless loop and hot cocoa flowing freely – that’s pretty much how you imagine working with Santa Claus. However, the filming of “Santa Clause: The Series” on Disney+ is completely different.

In the “Bitch Sesh” podcast, Casey Wilson (“Happy Endings”), who starred in the first “Santa Clause” episode, revealed that lead actor Tim Allen was “so unbelievably rude” and that the mood on set suffered greatly because of his moods.

Tim Allen creates a bad atmosphere on set

So I’m in a scene. It’s just Tim Allen and me and I’m supposed to throw things at him. I think he’s a burglar. So he comes down the chimney, obviously as Santa Claus, and I’m woken up thinking there’s a burglar there, basically like a burglary scene. So I throw things at him. [Er] goes to the producer who is standing a meter away from me and says, and I hear him, he says, “You have to tell her to stop interrupting me.” The producer turns to me with a horrified face , takes a step towards me and says, “Um, Tim would like you to stop interrupting him.”

Casey Wilson

According to Wilson, everyone on set made every effort not to incur Allen’s wrath. When Allen was satisfied with the scene, he left the set, even though he was actually needed to take a shot of Wilson.

He’s done and Tim Allen says, ‘I’m leaving!’, picks up his Santa Claus cape, drops it on the floor and walks out. And they bring in his double, a lovely man who was much easier to shoot with. People scurry around to pick up his velvet Santa coat. He’s a bastard. And the best part is… I won’t say who said it. It was someone I don’t know, maybe from the crew. [Er oder sie] walks past me and simply says, ‘You see him on one of his good days.’

Casey Wilson

It’s not the first time that Allen has allegedly misbehaved on a set. Fans, on the other hand, tend to report positively on encounters with him, so Tim Allen can obviously hold himself together when he’s in public.

There are currently two seasons of “Santa Clause: The Series” available on Disney+, but a third season has not yet been confirmed. But Allen will be heard again as Buzz Lightyear in “Toy Story 5” and perhaps also seen in a spin-off of “Listen, Who’s Banging?”
