Navya: A new success with its American partner Beep benefits French Navya

(BFM Bourse) – In a market that continues to depress, the price of the Rhone specialist in autonomous driving systems is up slightly on Friday following the announcement of a contract awarded by the Jacksonville urban transport authority, in Florida, to its local partner Beep.

Against the current of a new decline of more than 3% for the Paris market on Friday, the price of Navya posted an increase of 1.86% to 1.70 euro around 3:30 p.m. on the announcement of an extension of the deployment of Autonome Shuttles, operated by its partner Beep, in downtown Jacksonville, Florida.

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) has already been experimenting since 2020 with the use of autonomous shuttles on the campus of the Mayo Clinic, Florida’s main hospital establishment (originally from Minnesota, Mayo Clinic is one of the the most reputable university hospital federations in the United States, ranked in 2022 best hospital in the world by Newsweek). The Mayo Clinic project has since won several awards, including from the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) and the ITS World Congress.

To go further, the JTA has selected Balfour Beatty Vision 2 Reality (V2R) and Beep (which is therefore based on the Navya shuttles) as part of the first phase of its “Ultimate Urban Circulator” project, which ultimately aims to make self-driving vehicles the primary mode of transportation in downtown Jacksonville, Florida’s most populous town dear to the heart of Ash Williams.

According to Navya, it is currently the largest Autonomous Shuttle project ever carried out in the United States, with a route of 4.8 kilometers.
