Navya: autonomous shuttle pilot project in Scotland

(CercleFinance.com) – Navya announces a partnership with the Inverness Campus to deploy a pilot project for a passenger transport service by autonomous vehicle in Scotland. His vehicle has arrived in the Highlands and ongoing trials will continue until March 2023.

Hitrans, the regional transport partnership for the Highlands and Islands, is the developer of the project. It is working with a number of partners to complete the project, including Navya who designed, manufactured and deployed the vehicle.

The self-driving transport service offers a three-kilometre route from the Inverness campus to the Inverness Shopping and Business Park, including a railway crossing facilitated by the recently installed Sustainable Transport Bridge.

The autonomous shuttle offers up to 15 seats and will be used mainly by students and people working on the campus site. It will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be free during a special launch period until October 1.
