Navya strengthens its position in the Gulf countries thanks to an agreement with the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications of Bahrain. It will make it possible to deploy autonomous vehicles there, in a region where French is already well established.

Autonomous driving systems provider Navya has just entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications (MTT) of the Kingdom of Bahrain to accelerate the deployment of autonomous vehicles in the country.
The MTT is in charge of the development and regulation of transport and telecommunications infrastructure and systems in Bahrain. Its main objective is to promote major mobility projects such as the installation of a metro or the modernization of the airport.
75% of the GCC countries market
This agreement should allow the MTT to diversify the means of public transport in Bahrain with the implementation of autonomous cars. Navya will support this project “ by sharing its experience and best practices from its deployments around the world, up to the implementation of regulations and policies for autonomous vehicles “.
Navya already holds 75% of the autonomous mobility market in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) with its six shuttles deployed in Saudi Arabia and six others in the United Arab Emirates. This agreement further strengthens the positions of French in the region.
Sophie Desormière, Chairman of Navya’s Board of Directors, declares that ” the adoption by the Kingdom’s Authorities of a visionary approach allows them to imagine the Bahrain of tomorrow promoting sustainable development supporting the foundations of an inclusive and cohesive society “.
