Naya Rivera: Emotional reactions from her "Glee" colleagues

Hollywood mourns the loss of Naya Rivera. The "Glee" team also reacts with deep dismay to the tragic death of the actress.

After the forces searched for the missing "Glee" star Naya Rivera for days, the police confirmed on Monday evening the death of the actress. Her body had been recovered in a lake northwest of Los Angeles and she was only 33 years old. "We are convinced that the body we found is the body of Naya Rivera," said Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub. The news of the actress's death has caused grief and dismay in many places. Her former colleagues in the successful "Glee" series also reacted emotionally on social media.

Including actor Chris Colfer (30), who shared a photo with Naya Rivera on Instagram. "Her brilliance and humor were second to none. Her beauty and talent were from another world," wrote her former "Glee" partner. "Naya was really unique and she always will be." Rivera embodied the scheming cheerleader Santana Lopez in the TV series "Glee" (2009-2015).

"A class of its own"

Demi Lovato (27) also spoke up via Instagram and described Rivera's successes as inspiration for women with Latin American roots worldwide. "The character you embodied was groundbreaking for a number of disguised queer girls (like me back then)," wrote the actress about a few moments together from the TV series. She would always appreciate that she was allowed to play her friend. Lovato embodied the role of Santana's girlfriend Dani in "Glee".

A detailed Instagram message came from Darren Criss (33), also a colleague of Riveras from "Glee". "She was brave. She was outrageous. It was great fun. Naya made me laugh like nobody else on the set," said Criss. "She played by her own rules and was in a class of her own. I was always so thankful for her friendship then as now," is part of his long text.

Jane Lynch (60), who also played with Rivera in "Glee", named her former co-star on twitter "a force of nature". "Calm sweet, Naya. What a force you were. Love and peace for your family," Lynch posted.

Desperate search for TV star

Naya Rivera rented a boat last Wednesday to take her son on a trip to Lake Piru in Los Padres National Forest, Ventura County, California. Hours later, people discovered the four-year-old alone on board, without any trace of his mother. Rescue workers searched intensively for the actress.
