Naya Rivera: Ex-husband comments on living with her sister

Ryan Dorsey has explained why living with the sister of his drowned ex-wife Naya Rivera is so important to his son.

"Glee" star Naya Rivera (1987-2020) drowned in July on a boat trip with her five-year-old son Josey in Lake Piru. Her ex-husband and father of their son, Ryan Dorsey (37), has now commented in an emotional Instagram video on the reasons why he moved in with Rivera's sister Nickayla (26). The recently single father was criticized for having a relationship with his son's aunt.

99 percent of the people who spoke up were strangers and didn't know the family situation at all, says Dorsey. They condemned and wrote horrific news, including death threats. "It's sad that we live in such a world. That you do such a thing to a family that has to cope with such a tragic event," he says with a broken voice. His son had to grow up without his mother, he slept poorly himself and got up sad every day.

Dorsey denies relationship rumors

He further describes the bad days of the search for Naya Rivera, the news of her death and the funeral. "The grief can begin, but the sadness in the new reality gets worse." His son then asked him that his aunt should live with them "forever" as a close reference person. As a single father you have to rely on every help. It is a temporary solution, but the boy now needs his family. "How could you keep him from doing that after all that he had to endure? Just because a few strangers have something to say about it?"

He himself is also happy to be able to speak to someone and not be alone with his thoughts. With the photos of the two a false reality was presented. "Man, I would be happy if I only had one relationship to deal with right now." Dorsey and Naya Rivera were married from 2014 to 2018.
