The American actress Naya Rivera (1987-2020) drowned. The authorities in California announced this after the autopsy. Her death was therefore an accident. The 33-year-old, who became known through the "Glee" series, had been missing since Wednesday. She had rented a boat to take her son on a trip to Lake Piru in Los Padres National Forest in Ventura County, California. The four-year-old was later found alone on the boat. The divers discovered Rivera's body on Monday.

The autopsy report said there was no evidence of violence or "that drugs or alcohol played a role in the death of the deceased". The police had previously said there was no evidence of crime or suicide.

Family statement

Rivera's family has since released a statement: "We are so grateful for the love and prayers for Naya, Josey and our family in the past week," quotes "Deadline" from the statement. "Naya was an amazing talent, but an even bigger person, mother, daughter and sister." The family also thanked everyone involved in the search.
