Nazan Eckes and her ex Julian Khol celebrate Christmas with their sons together – and yet everything is “different than expected”.
In October 2022, presenter Nazan Eckes, 46, announced the separation from her husband, artist Julian Khol, 43. Only a few months later, despite everything, she celebrates Christmas with her ex and their sons – but differently than planned, as she now reveals with a family snapshot on Instagram.

In sunshine and high temperatures, Nazan Eckes and Julian Khol laugh with their sons Lounis and Ilyas into the camera, the sky above them is a deep blue. Actually, the family had planned to spend the holidays in colder climes. Nazan explains: “Our Christmas greeting to you this year is different than expected. Actually, like every year, we would be in Vienna with our grandparents, then in the snow.”
But then they all got sick “and everything turned out differently…”. Nevertheless, she does not want to put the sand in her head, but make the best of it. “We had to improvise a lot for our children yesterday … but it doesn’t matter,” continues the popular TV face.
Nazan on parenting with ex Julian: “Coparenting Goals”
Her hashtag “Coparenting Goals” makes it clear how well Nazan gets along with her ex Julian. Even while there were rumors of separation, the moderator and the Austrian artist celebrated their son Lounis’ eighth birthday together. Even after the end of love, Nazan reiterated in an Instagram post: “We are still parents – loving, passionate parents. As a family, we continue to walk hand in hand through life and we are very proud and happy that we made it”.
Their marriage ultimately failed due to the “many challenges” as a couple. Eckes and Khol met in 2008 at the Life Ball in Vienna and said yes in 2012 during a romantic wedding ceremony in Florence.
