Reports are circulating that Nazan Eckes is stopping at RTL. However, the broadcaster has now denied this.
Did presenter Nazan Eckes (45) quit her job at RTL after around 23 years? The “Bild” newspaper claims to have learned this news from circles of the private broadcaster, and many other media picked it up. At the request of the news agency spot on news, however, an RTL spokeswoman draws a completely different picture of the situation and denies the report with the words: “We cannot confirm that Nazan Eckes is leaving RTL. There are very specific plans for a big theme evening with her and for an interview series we are currently working on with Nazan.”
Eckes is a veteran of the station and has worked for RTL since 1999. At that time, she initially took over the weather moderation for the local magazine “Guten Abend RTL”, followed by activities as a moderator for “RTL II News” and “Life! – Die Lust zu leben”. She also led through two seasons of the successful format “Let’s Dance” together with Hape Kerkeling (57). From 2020 she also inherited the main moderation of “Extra – das RTL-Magazine” from Birgit Schrowange (64), who resigned after 25 years.
