NCIS Los Angeles: how does the NCIS spin-off end?

“NCIS: Los Angeles”, the second spin-off of the “NCIS” franchise, bowed out last night during a double episode which offered a happy ending to all the emblematic characters of the series. .

Warning, the following lines contain spoilers on the final episode of NCIS: Los Angeles. If you don’t want to know anything, go your way!

This Sunday, May 21, NCIS: Los Angeles bowed out after 14 seasons and 323 episodes. Last January, the American channel CBS announced the cancellation of the police series led by Chris O’Donnell, LL Cool J, Daniela Ruah and Eric Christian Olsen after 14 years of good and loyal service.

Although this sad news came late, the showrunner of the series, R. Scott Gemmill, still managed to adapt the finale of this season in order to offer fans of the first hour a satisfying outcome for all the characters.

We studied each character to determine what they’ve been through, what they deserve to have, and what we’d like to see in their future”, thus explained R. Scott Gemmill to our colleagues from The Hollywood Reporter.

I think we did our best for each of them. […] For us, it was really about leaving the fans in a good frame of mind, not trying to be too blustered or fancy or sophisticated, but leaving the characters knowing that they’re going to be happy and they’ll be fine.

It is therefore a happy ending that awaits the agents of NCIS Los Angeles in this last episode, entitled “New Beginnings”.

The end of the red thread of the season

Sam and Callen seek to arrest an arms dealer. Fatima and Roundtree discovered that the weapons were probably stolen in Argentina. Nina then offers to help Sam infiltrate an illegal financial network.

Deeks, on the other hand, pretends to be looking for his missing snake in order to occupy the guard while Kensi sets up cameras. Unfortunately, they are surprised and have to take down two guards. Nina, Sam and Callen manage to track down the leader of the arms traffickers, thus putting an end to the evening’s investigation.

A wedding, a baby and a new mission

Jordyn, Rountree’s sister, had an encouraging interview with one of the universities she had chosen. They also received a compensation offer regarding their lawsuit against the Los Angeles police. An offer big enough to change the course of their lives, if they were to accept it.

For her part, Kensi, who thought she had been the victim of food poisoning after eating the remains of a meal from Deeks, discovers that she is pregnant. She announces the big news to her husband and Rosa who are thrilled.

Finally, seeing his fiancée stressed by the preparations for the wedding, Callen proposes to her to marry the same evening at the town hall, which she accepts with joy. Before the ceremony, Sam and Callen share a special moment.

After the wedding, Callen receives a sealed envelope sent by Hetty, which congratulates Callen on his wedding and expresses his regrets for not being able to attend. The latter lends them her house in Mykonos so that they can spend their honeymoon there.

She also added two plane tickets to Morocco for him and Sam to lend a hand on “a small side project”. On the spot, the two friends discover that the tickets have actually been sent by Nell who has assembled a team to save Hetty. It is on this cliffhanger that the last episode of NCIS: Los Angeles ends.

Broadcast on M6, season 14 of NCIS: Los Angeles is not about to arrive on French antennas since the private channel is 3 seasons behind the American public. Fans will have to take their troubles patiently to discover this final episode.
