NCIS: two guests come to celebrate the 1000th episode of the franchise

The Los Angeles and Pearl Harbor offices will be represented when CBS’ flagship franchise, “NCIS,” airs its 1,000th episode in a few weeks…

It’s official: Daniela Ruah, who played Special Agent Kensi Blye-Deeks throughout all 14 seasons of NCIS: Los Angeles, and Vanessa Lachey, who currently leads the NCIS: Hawaii team as the special agent Jane Tennant, will both appear in the 1000th episode of their parent series, the one that started it all: we called NCIS: Special Investigations (via TVLine). To mark the occasion, the episode (the seventh of season 21), which will be broadcast on April 15 in the United States, will last one hour and will be titled “A Thousand Yards”.

However, according to TVLine, it appears that neither Kensi nor Jane will appear “in person” alongside the Washington-based NCIS team, but their characters will nonetheless be present in the episode in a “fun” way.

And they are not the only ones to make a little cameo for this anniversary episode: the son of director Leon Vance, Jared, will also be present and played, this time, by Spence Moore II (All American, Superman & Lois).

Introducing this particular episode, David North, the co-showrunner of NCISrecently told TVLine: “One of our beloved characters is going to find himself in serious danger, and you’re going to see all the different franchises involved in a little different way.

Co-showrunner Steven D. Binder added: “There will be one personal plot, and the other will revolve around Director Vance”, played by NCIS veteran Rocky Carroll.

Tributes and Easter eggs for fans

We will pay many tributes to the past”, clarified David Northand disperse “Easter eggs for long-time fans of the series“, added Steven D. Binder.

If you watch the episode in 4K, you might have to blow something up”, they joked, “but the characters will be there.

Daniela Ruah left NCIS: Los Angeles a little over a year ago but hasn’t gone far since she recently directed two episodes of the franchise: episode 4 of season 21 of NCIS (broadcast on March 4) as well as episode 7 of season 3 of NCIS: Hawaii, which will also be broadcast on April 15 – just like the 1000th episode which therefore belongs to NCIS. It will therefore be the 1001st episode of the franchise and will be titled “The Next Thousand”.

If someone asks me [de jouer à nouveau Kensi]I will definitely find out then“, said Daniela Ruah to TVLine when she left NCIS: Los Angeles. “If it makes sense, why not, right?” His former colleague, LL Cool J, for his part, will obviously reprise his current role of Sam Hanna in NCIS: Hawaii.

Meanwhile, Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey) appeared three times in the parent series as part of two crossovers (in March then in September 2022), and during the crossover event of the three series in January 2023 which took place in NCIS: Los Angeles.

Season 19 of NCIS: Special Investigations is currently broadcast on W9. The first 18 seasons of the series can be watched in streaming on Prime Video.
