NCsoft unveils its future MMO TPS: Project LLL

Inspired by great science fiction novels and notably by Philip K. Dick, the NCsoft game will take place in the Seoul of a dystopian future where an event from the distant past (in the Byzantine Empire of the 10th century) will have altered history, up to the 23rd century. This will undoubtedly be a very good reason to fight the opposing faction in the streets of Korea. A fully open world of about 30 kilometers (without the surface being specified) that the player can browse without loading time, promises the studio. It will run on the Unreal Engine 5 and unlike older NCsoft productions should feature a narrative component with defined characters, despite its claimed MMO aspect.

In a video giving the floor to the developers, game director Seeder Jaehyun Bae says he wanted “to do something completely different from looters to other battle royales that are very popular at the moment. We wanted to create a new market exclusive to NCSoft with a new franchise incorporating shooter, MMO and open world keywords. We are in the process of developing this new project that combines different playstyles and several elements from our previous games, and we are happy to be able to unveil this first preview.”

However, we should not only shoot human players, since the first images of the game reveal a monster with dozens of pairs of arms floating above an alley.

We will probably learn more during the G-Star, a conference organized in Seoul from November 17 to 20, but we already know that Project LLL is scheduled for the year 2024 and should be released on PC and consoles.
