Anxious seconds in Flachgau: A 62-year-old wanted to turn onto the Vienna main road towards Henndorf on Wednesday afternoon, but lost consciousness. The passenger, his son (36), was unable to prevent a serious accident.
The man from Flachgau collapsed while trying to turn and pressed the accelerator pedal completely. His son tried to steer the vehicle from the passenger seat and bring it to a stop with the handbrake. However, he was unable to prevent a collision with a vehicle parked in a company parking lot. The 62-year-old suffered minor injuries as a result of the impact and had to be taken to the Salzburg University Hospital by the Red Cross. Both vehicles involved in the accident were totaled. The reason for the sudden loss of consciousness is not yet clear.
