Where is the nearest mailbox? A question that everyone has probably asked themselves at some point. Here’s how to find the answer.

Even in times of e-mail and messenger, mailboxes are still in use. The only problem is that they are either completely untraceable (for postcards) or were emptied an hour ago (for important letters). You know all this? Then we will show you a simple solution for finding every mailbox nearby in the future, including the emptying time.
Find a mailbox nearby – it’s that easy
The most reliable source for mailbox locations is Deutsche Post. There is one on their website
location finder,
which can also be used to locate mailboxes, among other things:
Open the location finder in the browser.
Under the search bar, click Mailbox.
Enter the current or desired location (address, zip code, city).
Start the search with the Enter key or by clicking on the magnifying glass symbol.
On the left you get a list of results sorted by distance, which are shown to you as a map view on the right. If you click on a result, you get more information such as the exact address and the collection times on each day of the week.

The Deutsche Post location finder will help you find your mailbox.
With the
Deutsche Post mobile app
(Android | iOS) you have the location finder ready when you are on the move. To search specifically for mailboxes, proceed as follows:
Open the Post app and tap Locations in the bottom menu bar.
Enter the location in the search bar (address, zip code, city).
Go to the filter symbol at the top right and select “Mailbox” in the search filter.
Tap “Apply” to start the specific search.
Identical to the browser, you get a sorted list with the next post box at the top. To switch between list and map view, just tap on the gray bar labeled “Result List”. You will receive detailed information on the individual locations when you select them.

Find post box with late emptying
How do you find the next mailbox that will be emptied the same day? An important question, because sometimes the letter can’t wait until the next day. There are two ways to do this in the location finder:
In the list of results you can see when the respective mailboxes are emptied. Look there for results with a
green message,
because with these the emptying takes place on the same day (screenshot above).
Tick the
Emptied/opened today option.
This will only show you mailboxes that have yet to be emptied.
